GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Our house and the studio are located on the edge of Doitam village at the foot of the hills which rise above Chiangmai. In natural surroundings, the studio and garden are equally perfect for relaxing or for undisturbed work or study.
 |

There are three outbuildings, all traditional converted rice barns, locally known as long khao, offering accommodation for up to eight people. |
Work areas are sheltered from rain and sun by a wide roof overhang, so remain cool throughout the day. Natural ventilation can be supplemented by fans.
The workspace is used for textile work – patchwork, embroidery, etc – or for other art activities such as drawing and painting, photography, sculpture, etc. There is an area for dyeing in the garden.
Classes and workshops often include visits to places of interest. These visits can be of a specialised nature, e.g. contacts with local textile experts, or can be of a more general nature - cycling or bird-spotting - showing something of the life, culture and traditions of northern Thailand.
